Sustainable olive oil
Montícola olive oil comes from olive trees located in the heart of the international Douro natural reserve near the village of Freixo de Espada à Cinta.
The olive trees are mostly between 50 and 200 years old and are well spaced for non-intensive agriculture and biodiversity protection.
The entire olive farm is environmentally sustainable as all the soil treament is guaranteed by the flocks of sheep that live, graze and fertilize the olive fields.
Montícola olive oil is cold-pressed and has always complied with organic production criteria, a label that will appear starting 2022.
